About this recipe
Air-fryer chicken breast gets a crisp finish and bright lemon-herb flavor with a simple, reliable method for dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, about 6 ounces each
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 small garlic clove, finely grated
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry. If they vary greatly in thickness, gently flatten the thicker ends for more even cooking.
- In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Coat the chicken evenly with the mixture. Let stand while the air fryer heats to 380°F.
- Place the chicken in a single layer in the basket, leaving space between pieces. Cook for 8 minutes.
- Turn the chicken and cook for 5–8 minutes more, checking the thickest part with a food thermometer for 165°F.
- Rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
